1848 Winery's 7th Generation Argaman is a single-vineyard dry red from the Ramat Sirin Vineyard in Israel's Galilee, made entirely from the Argaman grape, a variety bred for Israeli terroir. The winery, now run by the eighth generation of the Shor family whose winemaking roots trace to 1848, ages this bottling 18 months in oak before release, in a limited run of just 2,810 bottles. Expect a deep purple pour with raspberry and ripe cherry aromas, velvety black-fruit flavors, and soft, full-bodied tannins. Pour it alongside grilled lamb or a sharp hard cheese.
