Barkan Reserve Merlot is from the Barkan Winery, the second largest in Israel. It was founded in 1990, and its head winemaker is Ed Salzberg. The winery moved to Kibbutz Hulda near Rehovot in 2000. Barkan Reserve Merlot is produced using hand-picked grapes grown in northern Galilee vineyards. The timing of the harvest is critical in order to achieve the precise balance of taste, color, and sugar. After fermentation the wine is aged for 14 months in Hulda and Hulda oak barrels. This reserve Merlot is full-bodied, dark, and balanced with rounded tannins and a bouquet of spice and berry flavors. It has received a Gold Medal from the Challenge International du Vin.The image does not necessarily reflect the vintage. Any vintage maybe shipped subject to availability.
