Baron Herzog Merlot is a dry red wine crafted from California Merlot grapes grown in the Clarksburg AVA, where cool air and fog drifting in from the Sacramento River Delta slow ripening and preserve fruit character. Winemaker Barry Henderson builds the wine around ripe strawberry, jam, and light coffee aromas, with well-integrated oak shaping soft, velvety plum flavors that carry into a long finish. Baron Herzog has produced approachable California varietals since 1985. Pour it alongside grilled meats or aged cheeses for an easy, food-friendly match.
