Château des Laurets is a Bordeaux red from the Puisseguin-Saint-Émilion appellation, produced on the Rothschild-owned estate whose vines trace back to the 12th century. The blend leans on Merlot grown in clay-limestone soil on south-facing slopes, rounded out with Cabernet Franc for structure. Expect a medium- to full-bodied glass of blackberry and plum, cedar, Morello cherry, a touch of licorice and espresso, and silky tannins through the finish. Pour it alongside roasted duck, lamb, or a mushroom-forward dish for a classic Right Bank match.
