Château Lamothe-Bergeron is a Cru Bourgeois Supérieur red from Cussac-Fort-Médoc, the stretch of Bordeaux's Haut-Médoc appellation sitting between Margaux and Saint-Julien. The blend leans on Cabernet Sauvignon alongside Merlot and a touch of Petit Verdot, grown on Garonne gravel soils. Cold pre-fermentation maceration and stainless-steel, temperature-controlled fermentation give way to 12 months in a mix of Bordeaux barrels and larger casks, building black fruit, spice, and fine, polished tannins with a mineral edge. Pour it alongside pan-seared duck breast or another rich, red-meat dish that can match its structure.
