Chateau Le Crock, from the French Selection line, is a Saint-Estèphe red from Bordeaux's Médoc, grown on gravel-and-clay terroir just outside Cos d'Estournel and Montrose. This Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel estate, in the Cuvelier family since 1903, builds its wine around Cabernet Sauvignon backed by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, aged in barrel for structure. Expect a deep, tannic red with dark fruit, cedar, and spice notes and real aging potential. Pour it alongside braised short ribs or aged hard cheese.
