Château Piada Sauternes, from French Selection, is a botrytized dessert wine from the Barsac appellation within Sauternes, Bordeaux. The estate's roughly 11-hectare vineyard grows Sémillon alongside Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle; grapes stay on the vine to develop noble rot (Botrytis cinerea) before harvest, concentrating natural sweetness, then age in French oak. The result pours shiny gold, with aromas of candied orange, honeysuckle, and dried apricot, and a medium-to-full-bodied palate of apricot, mango, and vanilla balanced by bright acidity. Pour it chilled alongside foie gras, aged blue cheese, or fruit tart.
