Dark Arts isn't a distillery in the traditional sense — it's a Lexington blending house that takes a high-rye bourbon (60% corn, 36% rye, 4% malted barley) distilled in Indiana and ages it 7-8.5 years before finishing with custom-toasted staves cut from France's ancient Jupilles forest, a tight-grain oak winemakers have prized for centuries. The result, bottled at 108 proof, layers spiced caramel and toffee with toasted oak and a whisper of cold smoke. Pour it neat to let the French oak do its work.
