Elvi Clos Mesorah is the flagship red from Elvi Wines, a family-run estate in Spain's Montsant region, just next door to Priorat in Catalonia. Owners Moisés and Anne Cohen blend Carignan from vines nearly a century old with Grenache and Syrah grown on their own organically maintained vineyard, then age the wine in oak barrels for structure. Expect dark berry fruit, Mediterranean herb and black olive notes, and a mineral, earthy backbone, with firm tannins carrying through a long, spiced finish. Pour it alongside grilled lamb, braised short rib, or aged hard cheese.
