Hagafen Cellars crafts this Chardonnay in the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley, where winemaker Ernie Weir — a UC Davis-trained vintner with roots at Domaine Chandon — has worked the Silverado Trail estate since 1979. The wine ages in American oak for months, softening into a glass of ripe apple and pear framed by citrus zest and a warm vanilla undertone, with the oak influence woven in rather than dominating.
