Kottabos Merlot comes from Masseria Frattasi, a family estate in Campania's Sannio hills that has been making wine since 1779. This 100% Merlot, bottled under the Beneventano IGP, is hand-harvested from vineyards on the slopes of Mount Taburno, fermented and macerated in steel, then aged several months in French oak barrique. Expect a ruby-violet glass with ripe cherry and red-fruit aromatics, a touch of cocoa, and a warm spiced finish of pepper and cinnamon. Pour it alongside grilled meats or aged pecorino for an easy, food-friendly match.
