French Selection presents Philippe Le Hardi Clos de Vougeot, a Pinot Noir Grand Cru from Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, produced by the historic Château Philippe le Hardi (once part of the Duke of Burgundy's estate). The domaine farms its 85-are parcel within the storied Clos de Vougeot using an old southern-French technique of braiding vine canes into bridges to boost leaf coverage and concentrate flavor, then ages the wine roughly 18 months in barrel with partial new oak for structure and depth. Expect a savory, terroir-driven red built for slow sipping alongside roasted duck, mushroom dishes, or aged cheese.
