Teperberg Essence Fortesse is a port-style fortified sweet red wine from Teperberg Winery, one of Israel's oldest family wineries, founded in Jerusalem in 1870. Crafted from 100% Merlot grown on mature vines in the Ephraim Hills, the grapes are hand-harvested at night, then fermented and fortified with grape alcohol to lock in natural sweetness before the wine ages 15 months in used French and American oak. Expect a rich, concentrated glass layered with blackberry jam, dried plum, toasted wood, and candied walnut. Pour it alongside dark chocolate or aged cheese for dessert.
