Tomintoul 12 Year Old Sherry Cask is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky from the Tomintoul Distillery, matured first in ex-bourbon American oak, then finished in Oloroso sherry butts sourced from Andalucía, Spain. That finishing stage builds a nose of dried fruit, crème caramel, and roasted nuts, moving into a palate of golden syrup, brittle toffee, and fruit loaf, with a warming finish of maple flapjack and toasted spice. Pour it neat after dinner alongside dark chocolate or dried figs to let the sherry sweetness stretch out.
